According to Onu on 31st October 2013 the population touched the number of 7 billion. One billion in 1800, 7 billion at the end of 2013. The forecast for 2045 is 9 bilion.
Will our planet be able to support such a mass of human beings? It may sound emphatic, but overpopulation is the challenge mankind will have to face in the near future.
The United Nations update the projections on human population every second year on the base of the data given by the single nations.
The date of 31st October has a symbolic value and accidentally 31st October is Halloween Day.
It may sound excessive, but according to the theses in the book “The Intelligent Virus” the question of human overpopulation stands over any other, and the survival of human species on the planet will depend on its resolution. New viral epidemics, an unexplained increase of human aggressiveness (serial killers, massacres, infanticides, murders of parents…..), epidemic of suicides are a consequence of overpopulation. The surplus of human beings turns children into a product that can be sold or rent, as a whole or a part (juvenile prostitution, begging, marketing of adoptions, traffic of organs).
Human overpopulation has a very strong environmental impact and causes climate changes never occurred before. Because of the greenhouse effect climatic changes cause catastrophic environmental disasters increasing in intensity. The forecast of scientists on climatic changes and environmental disastres corresponds to a lot of ancient and modern “prophecies” about” the threats of waters”.
All the conferences on the climate and the relative “protocols” failed the target of cutting down the emission of greenhouse effect gases: in our opinion because they didn’t face the issue as a consequence of human overpopulation.
