In conformity with the theses supported in the book “The Intelligent Virus” human overpopulation causes a series of really dramatic consequences each of them alone, but above all in synergy with the others, seriously endanger the same survival of the human race.
Climatic changes with the consequence of environmental catastrophes are caused, above all, by human overpopulation. For about twenty years people have been speaking about climatic changes and there have been many theories trying to put them down to natural variations of the climate, always occurred. Only in these few years, it is a fact accepted by the official science too, climate changes and particularly the consequent environmental disasters may be a direct consequence of overpopulation.
If previously there were some natural variations of the climate, now they are occurring at an appalling pace and completely upset the climate of the planet. The so many human activities with a huge production of CO2 and the greenhouse effect coming from them cause the global heating of the planet and the consequent chnges of the climate.
If the changes of the climate are now accepted as a consequence of overpopulation, other phenomena like viral epidemics, are recognized as causes of overpopulation only by the experts in this field. Once there was the plague, as a great regulator of human overpopulation, now there is the AIDS epidemic which works silently, but efficiently, trying to reduce the abnormal growth of human beings. The HIV virus, likewise other emerging viruses, should have an ecological function and also for the highly clever ways it acts, should be, therefore, an intelligent virus. The fact that viruses and bacteria are regulators of population isn’t at all a new idea since we can go back to Leonardo who had such an intuition in about 1500, that is before Girolamo Fracastoro, in 1546, could prove that on the basis of infectious diseases there are germs.
In any case, apart from Leonardo, many modern scientists consider epidemics as systems to regulate population.
Another thesis, much more difficult and strong, supported in the book “The Intelligent Virus” and namely another of the consequences of overpopulation, as an attempt of nature to put a stop to it, is the increase of an unexplained human aggressiveness, with its consequent phenomena as the one of serial killers, cannibalism, murder of parents, infanticide, mother killers. It is a very strong thesis, but it is based on scientific inconfutable foundations. Now we just say that the mechanism through which nature regulates human overpopulation, with all its various aspects of an unexplained human aggressiveness, is a mechanism at genetic feedback or a mechanism at negative retroactivity.
Even stronger is the other thesis, always supported in the book “The Intelligent Virus” that also the phenomenon suicide is based on a mechanism at genetic feedback or at negative retroactivity: nature tries to oppose the abnormal growth of human population through an epidemic of suicides. This thesis is very hard to be accepted more for emotional reasons than scientific ones. The first difficulty is emotional: accepting, despite inconfutable statistical data, that the suicide phenomenon has become an epidemic phenomenon and may be a mechanism with which nature tries to regulate the exorbitant number of human beings. Undoubtedly thinking that such a dramatic phenomenon as suicide is and even more the epidemic of suicides, at present, in progress all over the world may be the consequence of a natural phenomenon acting on human population, isn’t really so easy. On the other hand scientific indisputable data assert the existence of links between depression and suicide and the existence of the geniuses of the suicide with a genetic hypothesis of the suicide itself.
In a sort of escalation in difficulties about comprehension-acceptance it is probable that the definition itself of “a child as a product” may be instinctively rejected and yet according to the thesis of “The Intelligent Virus” only by considering human children just like other products it is possible to explain such dramatic phenomena like pedophilia, juvenile prostitution, marketing of children, juvenile work, juvenile begging.
But it is on a historical philosophical base we can get the most amazing discoveries. By studying seriously human overpopulation and the relations among men and other animal species and nature in general, we can discover the “big bang” of the human species in its remote meaning of “original sin“. At present we will put this aspect aside, because we will try to explain it when we can face, in the best way, all the other theses of “The Intelligent Virus”.
