Let’s presume that tomorrow morning a team of particularly expert scientists can discover a vaccine for Coronavirus.

Then let’s presume a multinational company, greedy for money, can make this vaccine at not so high prices and distribute millions and bilions of doses to as many people as possible

Let’s suppose that the problem of Coronavirus ha been got over, what do you think it may happen?

According to what we have been repeating, for years, about the function of “viruses”, we cannot exclude, on the contrary it’s probable, that a new virus may make a species jump from the animal reserve and cause an epidemic even more dangerous than the present one.

Now let’s suppose that some scientists better than the previous ones can find out a “vaccine” which can be efficacious with any type of virus.

Therefore after removing the danger of epidemics, man will start again polluting the planet and so the phenomenon of “ environmental catastrophes “will have an acceleration.

But then what’s the true danger for man?

The true problem is scientific-philosofical, I mean with this, the conception man has of nature. Before passing from monkey to man the latter was an integral part of nature and as such he couldn’t” be faulty” and I mean with this word, to go against nature’s laws.

After becoming hominids and afterwards homo sapiens, we have considered ourselves superior to nature itself, even quite independent of the latter.

The recent epidemic of Coronavirus tells us that things aren’t exactly like that. If we consider nature as God, according to Leonardo da Vinci’s conception we have already referred to, the present epidemic is a “divive punishement”. In ancient times, for instance in the plague of 1600 Manzoni described, epidemics were considered a punishment of the “ biblical God” for man’s sins.

At this point such attitude, which,retrospectively, has seemed to us outdated, nearly a superstition, if we consider nature as God, we can assert, together with Leonardo, the recent epidemic of Coronavirus, just like AIDS, Ebola or Sars, may be a punishment, or more realistically, an attempt of nature to correct man’s wrong behaviours.

If we men don’t understand what nature tries to make us understand in a severer and severer way (AIDS-Sars-Coronavirus….but also environmental catastrophes), we’ll probably get to the definitive point of no retutn.

[1] this remark is read in a discussion on the laws of mechanics contained in the Madrid code. This sentence is really strange both because it is completely out of context and because it could even be interpreted with the fact that Leonardo believed in reincarnation. However paradoxical, however, this hypothesis is absolutely in line with what we have written on Leonardo’s conception of Nature, absolutely assimilable to the Buddhist one.
