Paedophilia is a very ancient practise; in the Greek Roman world it was tolerated, even exalted, inspiring immortal poetry[1],[2]; paedophilia was censored with Christianity and at present in the western world it is considered a criminal behaviour. Like so many other criminal behaviours, in the west paedophilia flourishes very much.
Illegality itself adds value to the product a paedophile uses (mostly pornography, but also children in the flesh) and makes this trade at a very high profit.
Only in some parts of the western world, in South Italy for example, goods in excess, highly degraded social and economic conditions cut market prices down and the criminal aspect prevails over the economic one. In some eastern countries like Thailand, Sri Lanka and Philippines, paedophilia is a real industry. Those who go to these countries often do so because they are sure to find children they can cheaply abuse sexually.
The induced activities of juvenile prostitution(bars, hotels, tourist agencies, airlines) are such as to contribute remarkably to the economy of those countries. The rich offer, that is a natural surplus of children, increases the demand. The latter in its turn increases the offer therefore the production of children(the product) is accelerated. Of course for a peasant family in Thailand it’s more convenient to bring up a girl who will later be sold at the market of prositution than a cow. With the proceeds of the sale of the product, the family supports the means of production, so that some more children can be brought up, always for the industry of juvenile prostitution. Without paedophilia, probably, that poor family couldn’t produce so many children, therefore in those countries the surplus of children and paedophilia feed one another.

An inconfutable example of the commercial aspect of children bringing up comes from China: in this country it isn’t possible to have two children legally, but many women avoid abortion, and the children born and not registered can be sold. The Chinese mafia(Sie Kie-snake head) and the Japanese one(Yakuza) buy those children from poor peasant families and then send them to the brothels in Thailand.
According to the last ONU congress in Stockholm, 5 thousand children prostitute themselves in the capital of Bangladesh. In Sri Lanka there are at least 30 thousand minors involved in the prostitution linked to tourism. In Thailand sex industry involves about 200 thousand children and invoices, altogether, one billion and a half dollars every year. The same child is often sold more than once and his price raises at every passage. Germany and Italy are the Countries where more frequently people leave for sexual tourism from. Yet prostitutig oneself isn’t the worst destiny that may occur to a child, once it is decided the latter must be exploited on sex market.
Always in the field of perversions and without going too far, at Rosenhein(Bavaria), police arrested a couple who had fitted out, in their house, a real room of tortures with soundproof walls and offered, for the equivalent of 6 thousand euros of today, a girl of ten-fourteen years of age for”games without limits” in the room of tortures.
No problem even in case of death of the young victim: for one thousand and five hundred euros more the corpse would be taken away.
[1] To be loved by boys, once you would present them with a rag ball,a toy, a little bird. Now they long for oysters and money: toys are of no use.You people in love look for something else. Glauco. Ant. Pal. XII, 44 (Hellenistic Age)
[2] Lucky you, without malice, little book! While reading you the young boy caresses you, puts you on his cheek, presses you with his delicate lips, keeps you on his dewy thighs, oh lucky thing! And how many times you’ll stay on his chest or, abandoned on a chair, you’ll be able to touch him under there fearless. And how many things you will tell him secretly: but, please, litttle book, tell him also about me.Stratone Ant. Pal. XII, 208.(II sec. DC.)
